LOS ANGELES, Oct 6 — Following in the footsteps of Transformers, G.I. Joe and Battleship, Hasbro has three other toy lines headed for the silver screen in Hungry Hungry Hippos, Action Man, and Monopoly, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Monopoly is first in line. Ridley Scott, who has shown interest in the project for the past five years, will produce the film, and the shooting is expected to start next year.

Action Man, the British version of Hasbro's action figure G.I. Joe, is also in the Hollywood pipeline, alongside popular board game Hungry Hungry Hippos, which will target a younger crowd.

These are the latest in a slew of toy and movie adaptation projects announced by Hasbro since the mid-2000s, with Risk, Ouija and Clue (which had already been turned into a movie in 1985) never getting off the ground, while Candyland (Sony Pictures) and Stretch Armstrong (Relativity Media) are expected to hit theatres by 2014. — AFP-Relaxnews
