| Carrie Bradshaw is back on TV in ‘The Carrie Diaries’ Posted: 14 Jan 2013 07:01 AM PST  'The Carrie Diaries' will introduce us to a 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw. – Copyright Warner Bros. Television Thanks to a series that ran for six seasons on HBO from 1998 to 2004 plus two films, audiences thought they knew everything about the famous New Yorker fashionista who analysed relationships. But viewers know very little about her life before she fell in love with Manhattan and met her friends Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte and the love of her life, Mr. Big. CW is going to make up for this with "The Carrie Diaries," a series that will focus on the heroine's teenage years. In 1984, aged just 16, Carrie Bradshaw will leave her home and her bland existence in New England and head to Manhattan, where her father has found her a summer internship at a law firm. Her already apparent interest in fashion will get her noticed by Larissa, a journalist at Interview Magazine, and this meeting will change her whole life. AnnaSophia Robb has a lot to live up to as she follows in the footsteps of Sarah Jessica Parker, who played the same character as an adult. The series, conceived by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (the creators of "Gossip Girl"), is based on "The Carrie Diaries," the novel by Candace Bushnell, who also wrote the novel on which HBO's "Sex and the City" was based. Timberlake, 31 (picture) and newly married to actress Jessica Biel, had teased his fans last week with a cryptic tweet saying "I think I am ready" and linking to a video showing him walk into a studio. Timberlake, a six-time Grammy winner and former member of boy band N'Sync, took a break from music after his 2006 album "Futuresex/Lovesounds" and worked as an actor in movies such as "The Social Network." He said in an open letter on his website that the new album is titled "The 20/20 Experience" but gave no further details. – Reuters |
