This is one of the peldges made by BN in its manifesto launched by its chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak here tonight.

BN also pledged that it will introduce the Transformative Salary Scheme for civil servants, including reviewing allowances and providing a special salary movement for those reaching a maximum salary.

Meanwhile last month, the BN government announced that the salary grades in the military and police force were raised to match the structure in the civil service effective from January 1 this year.

BN in its manifesto also promised to enhance the potentials of civil servants regardless of race and gender, besides giving special attention to the disabled to harness their full potential and ability.

It will also extend the tenure of contract officers and appoint those who are competent on a permanent basis.

BN also promised to 'Merakyatkan Perkhidmatan Awam' to ensure excellent service delivery, and to mobilise and empower the civil service, including the Local Government and District offices, to fullfill the demands and concerns of the rakyat.

It will also improve counter services through the appointment of multi-racial front-liners and expanding the online services for payments and applications.

On manpower, the BN also promised that it will recruit a fair mix of all the races at all levels, in the Civil Service and the government-linked companies, and expanding the Urban Transformation Centres to all major cities and towns. — Bernama
