Brigitte Jones: Mad About The Boy

July 29, 2013

Bridget Jones makes her return to bookshelves in October but she may be over dating and dieting.

Author Helen Fielding, whose lovable heroine made it to the silver screen with Renee Zellweger, is herself now the mother of two. She told People Magazine, that Bridget, now 40, was exploring motherhood in the book out Oct 10 in Britain.

"Bridget is struggling with baby issues – that sort of baby panic," Fielding said. "It's going to be talking about babies and life and really the theme of it is expectation: the way life never turns out quite the way you expect."

Amazon offers this description: "Fielding introduces us to a whole new, enticing phase of Bridget's life, set in contemporary London, including the challenges of maintaining sex appeal as the years roll by, and the nightmares of drunken texting, the skinny jean, the disastrous e-mail cc, total lack of Twitter followers, and TVs that need ninety buttons and three remotes to simply turn on."

Fielding's 1996 novel, "Bridget Jones's Diary,'' and its 1999 sequel have sold nearly 20 million copies combined. – July 29, 2013.
