In its latest product, Specialty Chicken, there's no pizza crust in sight. Instead, the US chain has replaced it with breaded, white boneless chicken pieces that are then topped with sauce, cheese and other assorted pizza toppings. Sound familiar? KFC pulled a similar stunt when it debuted the extreme Double Down sandwich, replacing sandwich buns with breaded, deep-fried chicken filets. Domino's Specialty Chicken comes in four flavours – Crispy Bacon and Tomato, Spicy Jalapeno-Pineapple, Classic Hot Buffalo and Sweet BBQ Bacon – and sells for US$5.99 (RM19.41). In a press release, the pizza chain pledged to continue to show that it's a "legitimate player in the chicken business". Meanwhile, KFC's parent company YUM!
