Oscar Isaac named for ‘Star Wars VII’ as rumours intensify Posted: 29 Apr 2014 03:54 AM PDT The lead actor from "Inside Llewyn Davis" is expected to appear in "Star Wars Episode VII" in a role that is said to be "significant", according to the latest rumours. The Guatemala-born American actor, who was praised for his performance in the Coen brothers' 2013 folk music tale "Inside Llewyn Davis", is in London in order to take part in a cast-wide table read of the "Episode VII" script, according to Deadline. With original "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) relatively open about her likely involvement in the new film, and Darth Maul voice actor Peter Serafinowicz having taken a London selfie with Mark Hamill on April 27, a table read makes sense of the gradual migration of suspected participants towards Pinewood Studios. Other suspected cast members: Adam Driver (HBO's "Girls") and John Boyega ("Attack the Block") were also name–checked, while another possibility remains British theatre actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers. With Fisher and Hamill expected to play supporting roles in this first of a new trilogy of films, handing over to a new generation, Han Solo actor Harrison Ford was thought likely to follow suit. But Deadline's info indicates that Ford has been given "a gigantic role" for the trilogy starter. Clarity is expected to come over the weekend, with the arrival of May 4, dubbed "Star Wars Day" after its resemblance to part the franchise's iconic phrase "May the Force be with you". – AFP/Relaxnews, April 29, 2014. |
