Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man ice cream Posted: 03 Apr 2014 09:22 PM PDT April 04, 2014 Baskin-Robbins has created a Spider-Man inspired ice cream ahead of the release of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' this May. – AFP pic, April 4, 2014.What's red, blue and striped all over? Why, the latest Spider-Man inspired ice cream, of course. In a tie-in with the May release of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" movie, Baskin-Robbins has created an ice cream flavour made with red and blue, vanilla-flavoured ice cream, thread by a web of dark chocolate and popping candies. It's a marketing move borrowed from premium ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's, which makes sport of developing new flavours from TV shows, films and musicians. The latest ice cream to evoke an LOL out of fans was their "Scotchy Scotch Scotch" tub inspired by the "Anchorman" lead character Ron Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell. Mark your calendars, ice-cream lovers, because major brands will be competing for your taste buds this month. On April 8, Ben & Jerry's will be hosting its 35th annual Free Cone Day at participating Scoop Shops around the world. The occasion will also be used to promote a trio of new flavours like Salted Caramel Blondie, "Hazed & Confused", made with hazelnut and chocolate ice creams and fudge chips, and Cotton Candy. Then, from April 22 to 24, Baskin-Robbins in the US will be hosting its own Scoop Fest, selling a single scoop for US$1 (RM3.28), a double scoop for US$2 and a triple scoop for US$3.
