| AR Rahman entertains more than 15,000 fans at concert Posted: 26 Apr 2014 08:00 PM PDT The three-and-a-half-hour concert saw Rahman's hugely diversed body of work, which included a mix of beloved classic numbers and recent hits in both Hindi and Tamil, as well as a Qawwalli segment with Sufi devotional music and an electronic dance music section. The maestro also entertained his fans with his numbers from the soon-to-be- released Tamil 3D film, Kochadaiyaan. The music composer said he considered Malaysia as one of his most extraordinary fan bases and aimed to give them an unforgettable time at his concert. Having last performed in Kuala Lumpur in 2003, Rahman said he was very excited to present his new repertoire of numbers to his fans here. Renowned worldwide for his innovative compositions, Rahman has won two Academy Awards (for his work on Slumdog Millionaire), two Grammy Awards, a Bafta award and a Golden Globe award, in addition to the numerous awards and nominations he has to his name in India. – Bernama, April 27, 2014 |
| Longtime bachelor George Clooney engaged to British lawyer, say reports Posted: 26 Apr 2014 06:09 PM PDT Alamuddin, 36, was spotted last week wearing a large ring at a Los Angeles restaurant where she and Clooney, 52, were apparently celebrating their engagement with friends, People magazine reported, citing anonymous sources. "George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key, but they also aren't really trying to hide this, it doesn't seem," said a source quoted by People. The New York Post also reported the couple's engagement. Clooney's representative, Stan Rosenfield, did not respond to an email from Reuters seeking confirmation. He told the Post on Friday that he did not comment on the actor's personal life. Clooney and Alamuddin have been dating since October, according to media reports. She practices international and human rights law, and Clooney is an international human rights activist. The two-time Oscar winner has been married once, but since his 1993 divorce from wife Talia Balsam has remained one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors. – Reuters, April 27, 2014 |
