With key forward Radamel Falcao watching on as he recovers from a knee ligament injury, his usual strike partner Teofilo Gutierrez put Colombia ahead in the 11th minute at San Lorenzo's Nuevo Gasometro.

Fellow striker Carlos Bacca headed down a corner into the six-yard box where the lurking Gutierrez stabbed the ball home with his left foot.

Bacca increased Colombia's lead on the stroke of halftime when he rifled in Victor Ibarbo's low right cross with the South Americans dominant in the first half.

Senegal pulled one back less than two minutes after the restart through Moussa Konate, who shot from the left across veteran keeper Faryd Mondragon's goal and in at the far post.

Midfielder Cheikh Ndoye equalised five minutes later with a shot from outside the box that surprised the 42-year-old Mondragon, set to go to his third finals in a 20-year span as his country's second choice keeper.

Senegal had midfielder Ibrahima Seck sent off in the 66th minute for a bad lunge on substitute Alexander Mejia, who also came off hurt, leaving both sides with 10 men as Colombia had made all their changes.

"We knew it would be tough. That's how African teams play, they run to the last minute," Colombia right back Camilo Zuniga told reporters.

"This match was very useful for us and the professor (coach Jose Pekerman) will get a lot from it."

Falcao, who had knee surgery in January, is hoping to make the cut for Pekerman's 23-man squad for the Brazil finals when he names it by Monday's deadline.

Colombia play Jordan in their last warm-up on Friday in Argentine Pekerman's home city, where they have made their pre-tournament camp.

American Bubba Watson (pic) surged to the lead as Englishman Paul Casey plunged four strokes behind after the third round of the Memorial tournament in Dublin, Ohio on Saturday.

Masters champion Watson used his astonishing power to compile five early birdies on his way to a three-under-par 69 in ideal conditions at Muirfield Village.

The left-hander posted a 12-under 204 total, one stroke ahead of compatriot Scott Langley (67) with one round left.

Young Japanese player Hideki Matsuyama (69) was two strokes behind, while world number one Adam Scott of Australia (68) trailed by three despite a bogey at the final hole.

Casey, who started the day with a three-shot lead, had a nightmare round, struggling from start to finish as he carded four-over 76 to fall four strokes off the pace.

"I kept my head down, grinding away. Shooting in the 60s every day is my goal. It's working out so far," Watson told CBS television after the round.

Watson made his move with five birdies in the first seven holes, charging to the turn in four-under.

He was more subdued on the back nine, coming home in one-over, including a bogey at the par-four 18th, where he sprayed his second shot right of the green.

Matsuyama, meanwhile, was in contention for the second successive week after sharing the lead going into the final round at the Colonial, where he tied for 10th behind winner Scott.

Scott continued to justify his ranking as world number one with another impressive round that included a 25-foot eagle at the par-five 15th.

"It's feeling good this week, better than last week," he said ominously. – Reuters, June 1, 2014.
